The Engineering Graphics Coordinator/Instructor position is a 9-month position (fall and spring semesters) with an option of three additional months for summer semester. Under the supervision of the Engineering/Industrial Department Chair, the Instructor will teach AutoCAD, Blueprint Reading, Rapid Prototyping, and Manufacturing related courses; assist in the selection and development of course materials; participate in academic advising and registration; maintain office hours; participate in committee assignments, and perform other related administrative duties.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Preparing and/or maintaining current course syllabi for each course taught. Ensuring that courses within the assigned areas of responsibility are taught in accordance with the established syllabi.
Teaching courses as assigned in accordance with the established syllabi.
Recommending for approval adequate instructional materials for courses within the assigned area of responsibility. Coordinating and maintaining adequate laboratory facilities/equipment for courses within the assigned area of responsibility.
Monitoring the development and/or implementation of program activities. Assisting in departmental/program recruitment and placement activities.
Participating in the development of divisional and departmental strategic plans and participating in the formulation, interpretation, and application of division policies and procedures (through committee assignments, departmental meetings, etc.)
Assisting and making recommendations concerning the hiring and evaluation of temporary adjunct faculty within the program.
Assisting in registration and academic advisement of assigned students.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: An Associate Degree in Machine Tool, Engineering Graphics, Manufacturing Technology, Mechanical Design or related discipline with seven (7) years direct experience. A Bachelor’s Degree in related discipline is preferred. In-depth knowledge and experience with AutoCAD is required. A knowledge of Rapid Prototyping, 3-D Modeling, MasterCAM and/or Machine Tool is preferred. Applicant must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
