Function: Research & Development
Product Area: Analytical Inst/Consumable Pro
Responsibilities:
The Research Scientist is responsible for all stages of project design and implementation supporting new product development reflective of their advanced degree, including documentation under QSR or ISO guidelines. The position is also responsible for sound experimental design and execution of experimentation concerning an assigned project. The position mainly involves advanced laboratory work; review of experimental designs for soundness, and the associate is responsible keeping complete and accurate record of experimental data.
Complete various chemical or other procedures as a basis for evaluation of new or modified products.
Original thought and creativity is expected in evaluating new techniques, products, and improvements to existing procedures.
Cooperate with entire R&D staff and other departments in solving occasional problems of a technical nature. Discuss projects at group R&D meetings and Project Review Meetings.
Assists in design and construction of new products and applications.
Support R&D laboratory and operation/maintenance/training of current and new laboratory equipment.
Specific tasks to include, but not limited to, technical laboratory work for the development of new products and applications for specific products, initially concentrating on HPLC separation products for select markets. Other tasks include assisting in the development of unique separation products as defined. Perform all tasks under QSR guidelines of Design Control or ISO. Maintain clean and organized laboratory and keep accurate and complete laboratory notebook and present data in format acceptable for scientific and legal requirements.
Job Requirements
Laboratory experience with separation products.
Experience with separations based analytical instruments.
Proficient with generating analytical data from various matrices including biological matrices.
