This position is responsible for providing input and guidance to the organization regarding the research and development of our dealer management system and all related hardware. Responsible for research, development, maintenance, and technical integration of the HDDS dealer management system and all related products and services. This position is responsible for researching and developing emerging technologies by determining methods to increase efficiency, profitability, or decrease costs.
This position is instrumental in achieving and maintaining technical excellence. The position is responsible for providing the most cost-effective advanced hardware, software, and operating platforms for dealers. Responsibilities include evaluation and benefits analysis, research and development, implementation, assembly and test, documentation, review of products, training, and piloting of products. This position works collaboratively with all other departments to research, develop, and introduce new products that contribute to organizational business goals. A key measurement of success is a flexible, reliable array of products at the optimum price point.
Relevant Education
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and/or computer related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Equivalency Definition
In lieu of the education requirement, a combination of relevant education and experience is accepted. The equivalent definition is 2 years of relevant experience for each full year of education required.
Relevant Experience
Minimum of 5 years successful information technology experience in all areas of new product research, evaluation, selection, testing and validation.
Experience defining technological needs and analyzing infrastructure, hardware, software, and systems integration.
2 years experience in a Microsoft Terminal Services or Citrix environment a must.
Microsoft MCSE or equivalent experience required.
Certification in other related areas is highly valued.
Experience supporting a geographically disperse user base.
LAN/WAN experience to include firewalls, VPN, routing, switching, network security, as well as all Windows server and desktop operating systems.
Creativity and attention to detail are most important
Excellent communication and presentation skills as the position works closely with internal and external HDDS customers during all phases of research and development.
Demonstrated project management and technical documentation skills.
Strong customer service orientation background, sound organizational skills, and ability to manage time-sensitive projects are required.
