General Description This internship will last approximately 3 months with the intern working 40 hours per week. Your primary role lies in participating in quality reviews on all software prior to delivery, testing application software, tracking results and checking software configuration. In addition, you will also be utilizing methods, procedures and metrics needed to ensure that quality standards and practices are attained. Responsibilities Desire and ability to follow processes, procedures and make recommendations for improvement as needed. Ability to interpret area-related metrics and drive for continuous improvement. Ensures safety and integrity of customer and corporate data. Assumes other special projects/assignments as directed. Develop comprehensive set of test cases and expected results Develop sample test data Maintain available, complete and accurate documentation for appropriate testing Interpret test results and communicate issues/recommendations to development team Carefully validate drafts of written user documentation for completeness, accuracy and ease of use Strategy & Values Incorporate core values and core purpose into all decision making and professional interactions. Understand your role in driving the company’s success in both annual and quarterly priorities. Essential Education & Experience Degree is not required. Great job for a college student pursing a computer related degree. Candidate with some QA testing experience, is preferable. Skills Required: Knowledge & Skills Understanding of quality assurance concepts and procedures. Must be analytical thinker, detail-oriented and independent thinker. Must be self motivated, flexible and adaptable. Ability to learn change/configuration management systems and methods/procedures. Ability to learn test system utilization. Working knowledge of operating systems (2000, XP and 2003). Working knowledge of productivity software (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.). Working knowledge of email clients (Notes and Outlook). Working knowledge of web browsers (Firefox and Internet Explorer). Working knowledge of web servers (IIS and Apache). Working knowledge of databases (Access, SQL Server and Oracle). Working knowledge of automation software (QuickTest Pro and Quality Center; Robot and TestManager). Working knowledge of virtualization software (VMware). Possess good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work under the constraints of strict deadlines and short turnaround times, including extended work weeks, when necessary. Ability to take instruction and criticism. Ability to work well on a team. Possess strong time management, communication, decision and organizational skills. Possess fundamental interests in business principles.
