Purpose
To ensure Diageo wins in IRI by developing and managing spirits Trade Marketing programming in the $500MM Grocery, Drug, & Military Channels.
Core Responsibility
This position will ensure strategically relevant and timely deployment of Grocery QDVP3 marketing tactics for internal (Clusters and regions) and external (Customers and Distributors) activation
Program-manage the logistics of Grocery/Drug marketing initiatives including sampling, display merchandising, event marketing, coupons, etc. from production through scheduling and activation.
Coordinate all programming materials to be delivered on strategy, on budget and on time.
Interpret channel, market and customer needs and develop relevant activation tactics for Spirits and National Accounts teams
Implement program activation plans with Spirits and National Accounts
Understand and link consumer motivation and shopping behavior to retail marketing and merchandising strategies
Coordinate the flow of sales and marketing materials of all Brand and Innovation programs across DEO Spirits.
Prepare materials for customized account presentations. Eg sales samples, presentations, POS materials, etc.
Track production ship schedules from start to finish to ensure timely delivery of programs.
Coordinate special requests from Corporate, Trade Marketing and Customer teams.
Interact with external agencies and Diageo peers to make sure material quality and graphic standards are consistent Diageo Marketing Code.
Complexity of Role
Role requires proficiency in the following areas:
Ability to work in conditions which include multiple and sometimes conflicting priorities, extended work schedules and short time constraints.
Ability to work across Spirits, Beer, Wine and National Accounts teams
Must understand how to apply DWBB principles to program development
Ability to interact and collaborate with Brand teams, Innovation, Sales teams and Customers
Ability to generate new ideas focused on customer based benefits
Experience leading early phase projects to successful conclusion
Solution-based, proactive nature
Strong communication and interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach
Emotional maturity with the ability to influence decisions in a team structure
Strong attention to accuracy, detail and time lines
Management Responsibility
This position is responsible for coordinating and managing marketing projects in our $500MM Grocery Channel with the primary role of organization and follow-through. Will assist the Marketing Director in all phases of business. Must be able to interact with Executive- and management-level personnel with Customers, agencies and internally.
Experience
College degree with 4+ years of relevant business experience
Experience working in sales and marketing environments
Experience in working with promotional agencies and third party vendors
Customer-facing skills (presentation, fact-based selling, buyer/supplier relationships)
Demonstrated success leading projects through successful implementation
Strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams
Must be PC proficient, especially with Power point, Excel and Word.
