The advertising agency for Samsung N. America is in need of a bilingual English/Korean-speaking P.R. Manager to work directly with the Korean PR Director for Samsung at their office in Ridgefield Park NJ, near NYC. Bi-lingual writing skills are a must, business-level speaking/writing in Korean minimum.
This position provides PR guidance and programs for our key client Samsung Electronics as well as internally on a wide range of U.S. Initiatives
DUTIES:
Responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing public relations projects for Samsung and internal HQ
Contacts media to cover feature Story for Samsung Electronics (NAHQ, SEC HQ, SEA, STA, ITD, SECA, SEM)
Manages media coverages for Samsung Electronics’ marketing activities
Provides weekly, monthly PR activity reports for Samsung Electronics
Monitors Samsung related news and provides PR activities
Provides various PR ideas for Samsung Electronics (Feature story, Forum, Speech, interview, Press Tour,
Media visiting)
Reports Samsung’s competitors’ (especially Sony, LG) PR/Marketing Activities
Reports Samsung’s negative news and provides reasonable PR strategy
Interacts effectively w/clients in determining their goals, vendor qualifications, and budgetary limitations
Directs the timely completion of projects while meeting client specifications
Directs the communications from various sources
Works w/PR, media, and creative agencies to plan, facilitate, and execute PR/media events and relations for clients
Reviews/Writes/Edits press releases, letters, speeches, and other correspondence
Handles all requests for sponsorship of special events, determines and locates necessary resources to accomplish goals
Reviews all relevant publications for articles related to the client’s brand/product category
Manages various PR projects to help develop PR opportunities reflecting both the corporate image and brand identity of clients
Monitors project budgets, prepares client invoices, works w/accounting to identify and resolve billing discrepancies
Skills Required: -BS/BA Degree preferred
at least 5 years of hands-on public relations experience both agency as well as client-side.
Technology background preferred.
Thorough knowledge of the steps involved in working w/PR outlets and managing media as well as vendors.
Experience w/client service and ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships at all levels.
Computer literate, extremely proficient in Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/Power Point)
Strong interpersonal/communications skills both written and oral
Excellent problem resolution and project management skills
Highly detail oriented, w/multi tasking ability to manage multiple projects from inception to completion
Superior writing skills required
Bilingual (English and Korean) skills required
Category experience should cover consumer electronics, high technology, and corporate event/cause support.
Proven track record in idea generation, editorial placements, program coordination/implementation and strong media relations
