PatientKeeper is searching for a well-versed Java developer to join its engineering team. The team develops and maintains J2EE based server-side interfaces and components responsible for providing backend support to a web and PDA-based healthcare applications.
Core Competencies:
Track record of building scalable enterprise solutions
Working knowledge of Agile SDLC (software development lifecycle; requirements analysis, design, development, testing, implementation)
Background in object-oriented design and analysis, exposure to UML
Thorough understanding of n-tier application architecture
Strong analytical skills for effective problem solving solutions
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Required Skills:
Significant exposure to Java and J2EE Technologies (JSP, Servlets, JDBC, etc.)
Familiarity with Java threading model
Proficiency with JUnit and other unit testing frameworks
XML technologies (XDS, XPath, XSLT)
Working knowledge of relational databases, ANSI SQL
Working knowledge of major J2EE application servers (WebSphere and Tomcat)
Familiarity with Web Services, SOA
Experience with JavaScript/AJAX/HTML/CSS/DOM
Required Experience
Bachelors degree in a related field (computer science preferred)
5+ years of software development in a Java/J2EE environment (truly outstanding candidates with less experience may be considered)
Significant experience in development of complex, high-performance enterprise software, using n-architectures, preferably in a software product company
Working knowledge of Agile software development techniques
Sound understanding of object-oriented design
Strong analytical skills and the ability to learn quickly
Ability to work fast and produce quality work in deadline-driven situations
Excellent teamwork and good communications skills
Desireable Skills:
Experience with software development for smartphones
Experience with O/R mapping tools
Experience in healthcare technologies (e.g. Meditech, Cerner, EPIC, HL7, clinical data)
