Lightspeed Research views its Human Resource professionals as critical to the strategic success of its business. As the Regional HR Manager, you will provide professional advice, counsel and assistance to management and local staff on a full range of people and organizational issues. Furthermore, the Human Resources Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of the regional Human Resources office and the administration of Human Resources policies, procedures and programs.
The HR Manager works with the Regional CEO and other members of the regional leadership team to lead and implement Human Resources practices and objectives that provide an employee-oriented, high-performance culture emphasizing empowerment, quality, productivity, goal attainment, and the retention and ongoing development of a superior workforce. This role is also part of the Global HR Structure and will help develop and execute Global HR policies in conjunction with the SVP, Global Human Resources. The Regional HR Manager reports to the CEO and has a functional reporting line to the SVP, Global Human Resources.
The Human Resources Department is responsible for all or part of the following areas: recruiting and staffing logistics; organizational and space planning; performance management and improvement systems; organizational development; compliance to regulatory guidelines and related reporting; employee orientation, development, and training; policy development and documentation; employee relations; employee communication; compensation and benefits administration; employee safety, welfare, wellness and health; and employee services and counseling.
Strategy
Work with CEO and regional leadership team to maintain an employee-oriented culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, and high performance.
Develop and implement a three (3) year “people strategy” within the Global HR Strategic Framework
Work with the CEO and regional leadership team on all company polices and objectives in support of the business strategy
Take responsibility (along with the rest of the leadership team) for the effective leadership of the organization.
Recruitment, Retention and Training
Lead the talent initiative focused on recruiting, retaining, developing and training staff with specific emphasis on building future leaders for the organization and effectively developing our mid-level talent.
Lead internal resources to develop strategy for recruiting top caliber employees.
Lead initiative to ensure the Region is always “competitive” versus other employers by continually assessing the competitiveness of all programs and practices against comparable companies, industries and markets.
Build retention programs specific to individual high performers.
Identify current/future openings, identify “at risk” staff, and identify training programs to develop key talent.
Work with the SVP, Global Human Resources to maximize advantage of being part of large company (use all WPP/Kantar resource where possible).
Work with senior managers to advise them on best practices for dealing with problem and low-performing employees, helping them to effectively implement and navigate performance improvement plans and possible termination.
Employee Relations
Act as senior-level advisor on all human resources issues to other executives and all levels of employees throughout the company.
Manage and implement the Annual Employee Engagement Survey (Kantar).
Maintain up-to-date knowledge and understanding of regulations, industry trends, current practices, new developments, and applicable laws regarding human resources.
Ensure all Lightspeed, Kantar and/or WPP policies and procedures are well understood and adhered to by all employees.
Compensation
Maintain a knowledge and understanding of competitive compensation in the market research industry
Lead the semi-annual salary planning process within budget guidelines
Provide functional direction for compensation related policies and strategies.
Provide management training on compensation to other managers
Employee Benefits
Supervise the delivery of a high quality benefit administration function to company employees at a local level
Manage the transition of international employment in and out of the Region.
Requirements
The Regional Human Resources Director must have:
6+ years of broad-based HR experience, at least three of which must be at the management level.
Deep talent management experience (recruiting, developing, training and retaining staff, creating and maintaining a high performing culture).
Some level of experience in all HR functional areas including Staffing, Training, Compensation, Benefits, and Employee Relations.
Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, along with proven analytical and leadership skills.
Strategic vision and insight about human resource needs within a company.
An ability to work effectively in a team environment.
A Master's degree in business, HR, or industrial relations is a plus.
Strong networks in appropriate professional HR industry bodies.
Understanding of the workings of a global organization is highly desirable.
