The New York Palace Hotel, one of the leading hotels of the world, is looking for an experienced Chief Accountant to join our team of professionals. Our ideal candidate will be self-motivated and required to work in a fast paced environment. The candidate needs to be an individual thinker and takes great initiative to ensure that all forms of communication, internal and external, are clear and accurate. Monthly reconciliation of general ledger balance sheet accounts, including bank accounts and fixed assets. Manage night auditors and income auditor. Prepare all month end vendor commission accruals, reports and checks (including limo, audio visual, internet access, laundry/valet services, theatre, in room fax and business center). Complete month end P&L critique for specified accounts as required by the business. Participate daily and monthly meetings and training programs as assigned or as necessary within the department and the hotel. Liaise with other departments to correct SOP deficiencies for training and educational purposes. Develop new policies and procedures as required by the business. Participate in inventory counts as deemed necessary. Perform any other tasks or duties assigned by management as necessary.
