The health care large business representative has primary strategic and operational responsibility for establishing and building relationships with individuals through the business community across Massachusetts, and other market segments as identified, to directly increase membership for Network Health as part of the field team. This team at Network Health is designed to directly generate members through enrollment presentations to and provide application assistance for potential members and to aggregations and influencer's of members. The representative for large business is assigned targets and goals for membership growth through the large business channel, which includes direct employers, brokers, accountants, and other aggregations and influencer's of large businesses and, groups of individual employees. The role is specifically focused on external activities to create a pipeline of prospects and leads and to convert the pipeline into members.
Requirements
Independently establish and build relationships with large employers, brokers, accountants, and other aggregations and influencer's of large businesses and large numbers of employees across Massachusetts, and other market segments as identified, to increase membership. Develop referral sources that will lead to measurable enrollment. Specifically, work with human resources representatives, brokers, and others who can help connect Network Health with potential members.
Conduct direct outreach with potential members to generate prospects and enrollments. Develop target lists of and qualifies partners and potential enrollees. Identify, solicit, and close quality new business opportunities. Identify and satisfy aggregations and individual customer needs through educational meetings, application assistance, and timely follow up communications direct with customers and through inside field team. Maintain and grow existing relationships, and generate new relationships in the field.
Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of sales cycle and ability to bring prospects to leads to closure. Develop target lists of qualified aggregators and potential individual enrollees. Identify, solicit, and close new business at the aggregator and individual levels. Meet membership targets as defined. Devise and implement plans and strategies in the large business channel to meet membership targets, such as information sessions or office hours, enrollment days, and/or canvassing to generate sign-ups. Work with field team manager and team in the development and implementation of prospective member processes, operations, and measurements to manage results. Help set up and enforce utilization of contact/results tracking and reporting. Participate in implementation of process for continuous process improvement.
Independently function as spokesperson for Network Health, its products, the application process, and health care reform presenting to all levels of aggregations, decision makers, and individual prospective members. Conduct presentations to decision-makers and influencer's within businesses and directly to employees. Assist with applications, and where needed, renewal forms.
Track detailed activity and contacts through database according with established practices for tracking and monitoring. Produce timely and accurate reports. Monitor and evaluate effectiveness of different relationships, activities, and channels. Develop new reports and redirect efforts as needed. Based on results and evaluation of activity to support specific membership target, reprioritize markets and organizations to gain maximum reach in a competitive environment.
Understand Network Health current contacts in each region along with any current partnerships. Add new contacts and identify subgroups that are not being served. Partner with Corporate Marketing Team to identify opportunities to participate in business/industry, PR, or other events around the state, and help staff these or other events as needed during the busy event season.
Work with membership marketing to identify marketing and collateral opportunities and opportunities to develop and implement programs that create positive business relationships and direct membership by educating, supporting, and assisting potential members and business organizations with applications and renewal forms. Distribute Network Health collateral (brochures, posters, etc.) in the field.
Partner with customer service to support high-quality service to customers and potential customers.
Monitor state contracts and other requirements for compliance.
Additional duties
Maintain knowledge and expertise in area of responsibility.
Daily travel to regions throughout Massachusetts with own vehicle.
Maintain a clear understanding of legislative regulations that govern marketing and outreach.
Strength in ability to prioritize tasks, multi-task, and manage time effectively.
Perform other duties assigned.
Position requires some evening and weekend work.
Support other field representatives as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in business, marketing, or equivalent area or 3 to 5 years equivalent work experience required.
4 to 7 years experience in health insurance, managed care, or brokerage organization.
Direct, hands-on sales experience required.
Outstanding communication, interpersonal, presentation, persuasion, negotiation, and follow-through skills required, along with a collaborative attitude.
Experience working with diverse populations preferred; experience working with businesses a must.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Ability to interact with numerous internal and external audiences.
Ability to prioritize responsibilities and work independently.
Bilingual/multilingual a plus.
Requires extensive travel throughout Massachusetts. Approximately 75% of time spent in the field.
The ideal candidate will have experience with sales discipline and a laser focus on generating customers in a measurable and meaningful way. Must have orientation towards sales tracking and results monitoring
