Regional Finance Manager
**IMMEDIATE Full time OPENING**Award winning Civil Engineering firm seeking a Regional Finance Manager to fill a newly created position in our Irvine corporate office.
5+ years experience in cost accounting and corporate finance, and 2+ years Public Accounting/CPA experience to drive continuous improvement and ensure accurate analysis of financial metrics, BA in Finance/Accounting required (MBA preferred), If this is you read on... QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum Requirements)Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting or equivalent MBA preferred.
CPA license or 2+ years Public accounting experience REQUIRED 5-7 years.
Accounting Department supervisory experience REQUIRED Thorough knowledge of GAAP (accounting principles and procedures) and the ability to apply this knowledge to the accounting work to be performed. Ability to develop and install standards and procedures providing proper internal controls of the accounting function. Ability to plan, organize and direct the work of others; ability to analyze data and draw sound conclusions.Working knowledge of Axium software (preferred).Experience working for Civil Engineering/Construction Management/Architectural or related service industry
HIGHLY desired.Key Responsibilities:
1.Cash flow management for the Regional Office.
2.Oversee the Accounting Staff of eight.
3.Client and vendor interface (e.g. accounts, insurance, etc.)
4.Preparation and review of monthly and year-end financial statementsEssential Duties and Responsibilities Cash Flow
•Monitoring collections, billings and expenditures. Prepare financial statements and management reports.
•Prepare and maintain long and short term budgets.
•Prepare monthly financial performance summaries.
•Prepare bank deposits and maintain accounts.Finance
•Provide for business operation needs, such as insurance, lease, purchasing and sub-consultant or contractor payables.
•Ensure completion of project billings, collections through team leader support.
•Oversee processing of weekly and semi-monthly payrolls.•Review quarterly and annual payroll tax returns.
•Record payroll tax payments.
•Maintain property tax on assets and equipment records.
•Timely payment of all taxes and contractual obligations.
•Prepare monthly closing reports and coordinate with outside accountant.•Review final financial statements.
•Act as contact for all banking needs (line of credit, CD's, credit cards, etc.).
•Monitor collections and expenses. Identify and recommend any required adjustments to meet monthly operational needs.
•Keep up-to-date with accounting software and review new products that will improve accounting procedures.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Currently supervises six non-exempt employees and two exempt employees. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
