Responsibilities : Under the administrative direction of the DPM II, the SISA provides advance-level testing support to the MEDS Testing Unit (MTU). This unit performs ongoing regression testing, and acceptance testing activities that verify and validate Medi-Cal Eligibility Data Systems (MEDS) changes to ensure the interfaces and applications continue supporting recipient eligibility functions for the Medi-Cal Program. The individual supports all aspects of testing for changes that relate to the Department eligibility data systems, which include the MEDS, State Client Index (SCI), and other health related applications that operate on the Mainframe (COBOL, VSAM, DB2). The SISA is responsible for acting as a liaison between non-technical program staff and information technology stakeholders as they relate to the testing work efforts of MEDS.
Requirements : The incumbent must have knowledge and experience of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) phases; strong work effort and project planning; ability to communicate in writing and orally; ability to handle multiple concurrent assignments; ability to work with both technical and non-technical staff; knowledge and experience in preparing test cases, test scenarios, and test data; and knowledge and experience with developing application systems in Mainframe is strongly desired. Applicants should be State employees who are currently in the Staff Information Systems Analyst (Specialist) classification, eligible for appointment/transfer to the class, or eligible for reinstatement.
