Our dynamic, rapidly growing Arlington, VA office has an immediate opening for a Senior Federal Government Accountant / Financial Analyst. We are currently seeking motivated, enthusiastic individuals to join our firm. The position is to provide accounting support services on a 5-year Federal contract located in Suitland, MD. The ideal candidates have experience working within the Federal government and/or commercial general ledger accounting and reconciliation. They are eager to meet milestones and deadlines, are dependable, and can handle multiple assignments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Examination, analysis and interpretation of accounting data pertaining to multiple appropriation accounts.
Maintenance of general ledger and subsidiary accounts.
Classification of accounting transactions and adjustments.
Reconciliation of accounting transactions and balances, and resolving accounting discrepancies and abnormal balances.
Financial reporting and supporting schedules.
A Successful candidate will have:
3-5 years of recent accounting experience, Federal Government preferred.
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, and have excellent skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point. CPA, preferred.
