SHN is seeking a MATERIALS TESTING LABORATORY MANAGER for a full-time long term position in our Willits, CA office. Successful candidates will be ACI Certified as well as possess a good understanding and background of the geotechnical construction industry. Attention to detail is a must!
Candidates must be able to effectively communicate and interface with general contractors and/or owner representatives, tasks to include putting together proposals and cost estimates for projects. Candidates must also be familiar with ICC building codes. Typical contracts at SHN include inspection & testing services for schools, hospitals, and other public and private buildings. Special inspection services include structural steel & bolting, welding, concrete, masonry, fireproofing, and soil compaction testing.
Typical duties include performing laboratory testing of soil, concrete, aggregate, masonry and asphalt. Duties also include organizing and performing required laboratory tests, maintaining calibration and calibration records for field and laboratory equipment, maintaining laboratory accreditation and supervision of other laboratory technicians.
Qualifications:
*High School diploma or equivalent
*AWS / CWI's with at least 3 years related experience
*ICC certifications for structural steel welding, structural masonry, pre-stressed concrete, & spray applied fireproofing
*Ultrasonic NDT Level II certification
*ACI concrete sampling certification
*Nuclear gauge certification
*Good written and verbal communication skills are required as well as the ability to work in the field as part of a team.
*Working knowledge of the conditions in the geographic area
*Valid Driver’s license (CA) by hire date
*Must be a U.S. citizen or be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
