Job Description: Diversified Energy Corporation is developing an end-to-end algae cultivation and harvesting system to produce micro-algal culture for a variety of applications including biofuels, animal feed, nutraceuticals, etc. As a result, an exciting opportunity is now available for a Field Technician to join the Diversified Energy team and support the development and commercialization of this breakthrough technology.
The Field Technician is responsible for operating and collecting data at the DEC algae production test site in support of the end-to-end system development and demonstration program. The test site includes both algae production and harvesting in addition to research and development test beds for characterizing algal growth, thermal performance, oil induction, harvesting, and installation/maintenance. The Field technician will work closely with other teammates and supporting subcontractors during installation, operations, and maintenance of the site. The Field Technician will work with DEC systems and field engineers to provide valuable operations, lessons learned, and future improvement feedback for the design of a commercial-scale algae production system.
Job Description:
Field Technician duties shall include, but are not limited to:
Start-up and operation of algae production beds
Operation of harvesting equipment including dewatering, drying and oils extraction
Start-up and operation of system test beds (algae growth, thermal, and oils induction)
Install and maintain general irrigation-system type plumbing (water and air)
Data collection of algal water samples, temperature, pH levels, humidity, digital pictures, etc.
Some physical labor required, to include lifting, digging, assembling, plumbing, etc.
Travel: Light travel to DEC Gilbert, AZ headquarters office
Qualifications:
High School minimum, Associates or Technical degree preferred
General experience with irrigation and agricultural equipment preferred
General knowledge of aquaculture, biology, and/or biofuels a positive
