Seattle City Light’s energy efficiency program is the oldest continuously operating municipal energy conservation initiative in the country, starting in 1977 when the City established the use of energy conservation as its highest-priority, most cost-effective, most environmentally-friendly energy resource. Since then, City Light has become recognized as a national leader in the field of conservation, delivering energy efficiency programs and services to a wide range of customers throughout the City and surrounding communities. With an annual budget of more than $10 million, the C/I group is responsible for working with commercial, government and institutional customers.
