Job Description:
This part-time, seasonal position requires interaction with our customers via the telephone. Representatives will be required to answer phones, enter customer orders, and perform other administrative functions as required. Must be able to learn multiple job functions. Employees must exhibit a professional, friendly telephone manner, learn company policies and demonstrate attention to detail. Computer skills are a must.
Required Skills:
Qualified applicants must be familiar with computers, be detail oriented and able to perform multiple job functions. All applicants that have not held a position in this department within in the past 12 months will be required to pass all pre-employment tests. Hickory Farms will conduct criminal background checks for all seasonal applicants.
Equipment:
HP3000, PC, telephone, fax, calculator, headset
Shifts:
Representatives must sign up for at least 24 hours per week, OR, work a minimum of 2 eight- (8) hour shifts on the weekend (Saturday and Sunday). High school students must sign up for a minimum of 16 hours per week OR, work a minimum of 2 eight- (8) hour shifts on the weekend (Saturday and Sunday). High school students must be at least 16 years of age and present a work permit before they may begin training.
Every attempt will be made to schedule Representatives at least 16 hours per week based on their available hours during the early portion of the Holiday season. Scheduled hours per week will increase as the season progresses based upon sales and call volume. We are sorry, but we cannot guarantee a minimum number of hours.
Seasonal employment could extend through January 31, 2008 but due to the seasonality of the business this cannot be guaranteed. Layoffs may occur at any time.
Time off Requests must be turned in 10 Days before the requested Day Off. Time off requests between 11/23/07 and 12/31/07 are prohibited. Time off Requests are not guaranteed or approved until a Supervisor or Manager’s signature is obtained.
Pay:
New Hires – Training week $6.85; New Hires after training week is completed ($7.50)
Rehire (2nd consecutive year with Hickory Farms) $7.75) (3 + consecutive years with Hickory Farms): $8.25)
Breaks and Lunches:
One paid 10 minute break per 4-hour period.
One unpaid 30-minute lunch for 6 or more hours worked. Minors will be scheduled for a meal period for every five hours worked
