We currently have a 3- 6months contract opportunity for Project Control Analyst - with our federal client located in Alexandria, VA. Only Us Citizens.
Our customer is in need of Project Control Analyst to establish, monitor, control, and report progress of projects. The primary purpose of the project is to provide financial management support to the Institute for Public Research (IPR), including tracking, reporting, scheduling, budgeting, and resource planning for research and analysis projects of varying contract type and complexity.
Job Responsibilities:
Act as internal project control resource to implement consistent project management processes in multiple divisions for Project Managers, contracts personnel, and other senior systems and accounting personnel.
Establish, monitor, control, and report progress of projects by maintaining cost/schedule baselines, developing work breakdown structures and related management tools, creating detailed schedules, preparing charts, tables, graphs and diagrams to analyze problems.
Develop and maintain Estimates at Completion (EACs); prepare projects for Earned Value Implementation.
Communicate directly with internal Project Managers on the status of their project portfolio(s), including identifying, documenting, and resolving project issues and reporting issues and risks to management.
Provide user support and assistance for MS Project 2002/2003/2007, including WBS/Gantt, resources and rates, reports, filters, and custom tables.
Record project progress as needed.
Implement planning, startup execution, review, control, and closeout processes, and participate in process improvement activities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirement:
Must have a minimum of 5 years of related experience, including at least 3 years managing resources, cost, schedule and scope of government contract projects.
Must have a good understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), risk management, and cash flow, and the ability to schedule critical path and related analyses.
Experience developing and presenting training, and preparing presentations is a plus.
Requires knowledge of cost analysis, project management and financial software (Deltek Costpoint experience is required)
Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including MS Word, Powerpoint, and Access. .
Solid intermediate level Excel experience is required. Hands-on experience with MS Project 2002, 2003, or 2007 is preferred.
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills.
Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, finance, management or related field is required. Master's degree and/or PMP certification a plus.
