Novartis is expanding its biologics capabilities. As part of this commitment, the Novartis Institutes of Biomedical Research (NIBR) recently created the global Biologics Center to enhance the growth of its biopharmaceutical pipeline.
For this group we are seeking highly motivated and experienced Ph.D. Scientist with a strong background in engineering and expression of membrane and secreted proteins in mammalian cell culture systems.
Your responsibilities include (but are not limited to)
Lead and mentor a team in a bench-based role to perform protein expression of secreted proteins.
Bring innovation and expertise in antigen generation for use in development of antibody therapeutics
design and construct expression vectors for various expression systems, primarily mammalian cells to generate correctly folded antibody accessible proteins.
Devise new methods to effectively express, purify and characterize secreted proteins for use in creating antibodies against therapeutic targets.
Perform multi-parallel automated protein expression and purification.
Bring knowledge of state-of-the art technologies in the field of protein expression to the department.
