The Food Safety/ Sanitation Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the sanitation work groups. Acts as the site point person for Food Safety, PSM (Product Safety Management) and FDA compliance. Ensures successful AIB audit completion by leading the site through the audit process. Ensures coordination of site groups to meet safety, quality, service and cost commitments. Responsible for people and team development to ensure continuous improvement is achieved in the areas of cost, quality, safety, and service to customers (internal and external).
Key Responsibilities:
Establish programs and policies to maintain plant in a food safe atmosphere at all times.
Develop and maintain master sanitation schedule
Manage and schedule work assignments for direct reports
Inspect facility on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
Provide training and development to Team Members on all aspects of their jobs including but not limited to: safety, service, quality, cost
Maintain all pertinent records, reports and other paperwork as needed
Partner with production and maintenance resources to meet plant objectives
Develop and managed food safety related projects
Lead and facilitate team meetings
Requirements
Successful Candidates will Possess:
Proficiency in sanitation procedures and GMP/AIB requirements in a manufacturing setting
Understanding of quality, OSHA and food safety requirements in a manfacturing operation
Effective coaching, facilitation, presentation, and team building skills
Priod experience utilizing a team based approach to decision making
Knowledge in processing and packaging technologies and be familiar with receiving, material handling, maintenance, production planning and information systems
Must possess strong administrative, technical and human relations skills to effectively manage the function

Bachelor's Degree is required. A Bachelor Degree in Baking/Food Science or equivalent experience is strongly preferred. Skills and experience required are:
An understanding of OS Understanding of quality, OSHA and food safety requirements in a manufacturing setting
Effective coaching, facilitation, presentation, and team building skills
Prior experience utilizing a team based approach to decision making
Knowledgeable in processing and packaging technologies and be familiar with receiving, material handling, maintenance, production planning and information systems.
Must possess strong administrative, technical and human relations skills to effectively manage the function.
Prior experience in Sanitation Management in a manufacturing industry is strongly preferred as well as proficiency in sanitation procedures and GMP/AIB requirements.
Candidates must be flexible as the work will occur on alternative work week schedule; days off will vary, as will shift depending on business need. A 55 to 60 hour work week schedule is expected.
