THE POSITION: Will perform a wide variety of tasks by providing professional, highly complex, and responsible administrative staff assistance in the Community Services Department while serving several divisions namely: Administration, Building Inspection, Planning, Recreation, Redevelopment and Economic Development. The incumbent will also coordinate programs and activities; conduct specific and comprehensive analyses of a wide range of municipal policies, procedures and services, majority of which are in Economic Development & Recreation.
DUTIES: Duties may include but are not limited to the following:
Essential
�� Investigate, interpret, analyze, and prepare recommendations in relation to program implementation and plans for housing, economic development, recreation, and redevelopment activities.
�� Assist in the preparation and review of requests for proposals and qualifications in connection with recommended projects, site appraisal and site acquisition.
�� Assist in planning, organizing and administering Community Development Block Grant Programs, redevelopment and economic development projects, programs, and activities.
�� Perform a wide range of public information activities including dissemination of information pertaining to areas of assignment including marketing, business establishment, promotion and financial assistance
�� Investigate and prepare reports on specific requests and complaints, make presentations, represent City before its citizens, business community and government officials, as required.
�� Assist in budget preparation and review.
�� Confer with members of the public, other agencies, the business community to explain policies and programs.
�� Gather and analyze data on existing programs, conduct surveys and prepare proposals including financing and organization requirements.
�� Monitor and evaluate applicable and current legislation and regulation pertaining to economic development and redevelopment law to ensure proper compliance
�� Represent the City in interdepartmental and interagency projects
