NOTE: We will relocate qualified individuals who are not local to the Bay area.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
Manages external reporting requirements for company's Form 10-K, Form 10-Qs, and Form 8-Ks, prospectus filings and others.
Reviews and supervises preparation of support work papers for financial statement footnote disclosures, MD&A disclosures.
Coordinates with external auditors to provide audit support documentation. Maintains control file and reviews supporting audit schedules prepared by various departments.
Maintains thorough knowledge and understanding, and stays abreast of changes, to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and SEC rules and regulations.
Coordinates appraisals and purchase price allocations for acquisitions.
Monitors reporting and disclosures of peer group companies to ensure consistency with company's external reports.
WHAT YOU NEED TO HAVE TO QUALIFY FOR THIS OPPORTUNITY:
* 10 years of accounting/financial reporting experience with at least three years experience in SEC reporting required.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
CPA is required.
Prior experience with public accounting firm and/or refining industry experience preferred.
Must be self-motivated and be able to think independently.
Excellent written and oral communication skills essential to interact with business unit and accounting management.
In-depth understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and SEC rules and regulations.
Proficiency in Excel and Word required.
