Unified Communications Engineer

Do you have 3 + years experience in the physical installation of equipment and / software within the communications industry?
If so, please read on!We are a leader in providing telephony, data and business process automation applications and looking for a strong Unified Communications Engineer to join our team in one of the following locations:Cincinnati, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, St. Paul, Chicago or Indianapolis.The Position:
* This role is directly responsible for the physical installation of equipment and / or software at customer sites. (The installation may consist of new systems, upgrades to existing systems, replacement of defective components, or resolving software integrations.)
* Serve as customer point of contact for support services on system problems including troubleshooting and resolution.
* Work with manufacturer support to remedy any ongoing system or software problem and maintain update logs for work performed.
* Provide preventative maintenance as required, perform system back-ups, participate in vendor meetings and act as a technical resource to the project manager or sales executive.
* Engage on work of moderate to high complexity.
* Respond to after hour request for emergency services. (Participates in pager rotation)
* Update customer database to reflect changes in system configuration.
Must Haves:
* Completed Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP)
* 3+ years experience in the physical installation of equipment and / software within the communications industry.
* Knowledge of : Ethernet, hubs, switches, TCP / IP, Routers, PBX, Circuit (T1) and device configuration.
* Previous experience with PBX, Key Telephone System, Voice Messaging, other Unified messaging and Communications Systems.
* Familiarity with standard protocols such as TCP / IP, DNS, DHCP, SMTP, SIP, Robbed Bit T1, and PRI.If this sounds like the position for you and you have experience in the physical installation of equipment and / software within the communications industry, then we look forward to hearing from you. |
